SHAUN:
Progress on my team robot was going very smoothly.

We are always heading out with other team members to get to know each other better.
We went to see the fireworks on Saturday night. It was 2 hours long with 700,000 people around. It was amazing!

After that, I was invited to visit the rooms of the Thai and Japanese and we got to know each other better.
MERI:
This was a day filled with brainwaves (y) !!
Initially, we were having trouble trying to find a way to ensure that the robot arm could be lifted with a small motor. However upon hearing from other groups, we found out that it'll be very unlikely that the arm will work. While we were trying to think of a solution, we also tried to attach the sponges we had bought to tighten the robot grip on the ball. We miraculously discovered that it was of the right degree of stickiness to the velcro~!! It was strong enough (nearly) to grab the ball, and weak enough to release the ball when the ball is in contact with the wall. With this advancement, we were able to greatly decrease the weight of the entire arm by simply sticking the bamboo stick into the sponge and voila! It's done! :D
We also realised that the other robot could help to put some balls onto the lowest row as it also has a movable arm. We simply stuck some sponge material on the arm and all it has to do is push the ball against a wall to better attach the ball.
On the other hand, we realised that our small wheels could not be controlled very well, so we decided to make another set of wheels with the thick pipe. (We'll finish that on Monday)
Photo time!!

Our new arm :)
After the workshop, we went to see fireworks!! It was meant to celebrate the end of summer. These are just a few of the many photos I took xD

This gadget was handed to us when we bought our dinner at a food court quite nearby, it notifies us when the food has been prepared by ringing 'It's a small world' haha!

Dinnertime!! It was nearly 9pm at that time and we were all really hungry...

With Soichiro and Midori! (In her traditional summer clothes xD)

Many people actually wear their traditional costume and no one feels out of place!

Superbly longgggg queue for train tickets

The train company responsibly notifies us of the cause of delay! *Impressed*
