Biography
Nathaniel Gan is a Lecturer in Philosophy with the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences cluster. In his work, he applies the techniques of analytic philosophy to issues within the philosophy of artificial intelligence, with particular interests in epistemology and personal identity.
Prior to joining SUTD, he obtained a PhD in the philosophy of mathematics (University of Sydney, 2021), worked for two years as a penetration tester in a cybersecurity consulting firm, and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore. Outside of work, he pursues his interest in cybersecurity by participating in bug bounty programmes and capture-the-flag competitions.
