Professor Lim Sun Sun

Lim Sun Sun is Professor of Media and Communication and Head of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. She was previously Assistant Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Communications & New Media, National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on the appropriation and domestication of media and technology by marginalised and understudied populations, charting the ethnographies of their Internet and mobile phone use. She has published over 60 books, articles and book chapters and serves on the editorial boards of six journals. Her latest books include Mobile Communication and the Family - Asian Experiences in Technology Domestication (Springer, 2016) and Asian Perspectives on Digital Culture: Emerging Phenomena, Enduring Concepts (Routledge, 2016). She has won eight awards for excellent teaching at both university and faculty level. She holds a PhD and an MSc from the London School of Economics and BSocSci (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
