Programme Structure

The programme duration is a total of 12 terms over 4.5 years, and 1 internship period. Students in this programme will be required to take SUTD and SMU courses throughout the academic years at both campuses – an integrated, interdisciplinary and multi-cultural learning experience, which also allows students to interact more widely in both communities.

At the end of 12 semesters, students in this programme will graduate with a Bachelor degree in Business Management from SMU and a Bachelor in Engineering from SUTD, with a major in one of the three engineering pillars, namely:

  • Engineering Product Development (EPD)

  • Engineering Systems Design (ESD), or

  • Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD)

Students must fulfil the credit requirements of both degree programmes. Depending on the pillar (specialisation) chosen, students will complete between 49-52 courses, including up to 6 co-developed courses by SMU and SUTD. Students must also complete a 16-week internship and fulfil 80 hours of community service.
