Achievements

Congratulations to the SUTD recipients of the National Day Awards: Professor Tai Lee Siang, Professor Li Xiaoli, Professor Mohan Rajesh Elara, Dr Lee Chee Huei and Dr Pang Yang Huei.

ASD and DAI Assistant Professor Immanuel Koh has received two honours for his works—Neural Monobloc Black, and AI Sampling Singapore—at the prestigious German Design Award 2026.

In the latest “World’s Top 2%” scientists list released by Stanford University in September 2025, SUTD faculty were listed across fields including artificial intelligence & image processing, networking & telecommunications, optics and applied physics.

Awarded “Sustainability Champions: Best Conservation” at the Awards, the project receives another accolade to its impressive list of awards.

SUTD President Professor Phoon Kok Kwang, as well as Prof Tony Quek (Head of ISTD), Prof Yang Hui Ying (EPD), Assoc Prof Soujanya Poria (ISTD), and Assistant Prof Xiong Zehui (ISTD), are also named Highly Ranked Scholar based on prior five-year activity.

Marrying aesthetics and function, Hanabii is shaped like a flower (Hana = “flower” in Japanese) and expands open like a firework (Hanabi = “firework” in Japanese) when used by a child.

The project, by Assistant Professor Immanuel Koh, explores the design agency of deep generative neural networks in learning architectural notions of three-dimensional exteriority and interiority with a redesigned 3D generative adversarial network (3D-GAN) architecture.

SUTD is proud to announce that six individuals from SUTD have been selected as the 2024 World Cities Summit Young Leaders. The Young Leaders are selected from a large number of invited nominations made by senior leaders from public, private and academic sectors.
