Achievements

Ms Sarah Wong, Ms Liu Xiaohan and Mr Li Bayi’s paper titled “Understanding the relationships between Nature-based Solutions and Human Active Mobility: Comparative case studies of Urban Parks in Singapore” won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the GeoHB2025: 2nd International Workshop on Geo-spatial Computing for Understanding Human Behavior in Shanghai, China, organised by Tongji University.

Presented during a Special Ceremony on 14 July 2025, the Honorary Degree is NUS’ highest form of recognition for outstanding individuals who have rendered distinguished service and had a great impact in Singapore and globally.

LKYCIC is pleased to announce that Dr Thijs Willems et al’s paper titled ” Learning from Deliberate Failure: A Holistic Approach Using the CDIO Framework” won the Best Paper Award at the 21st CDIO International Conference (CDIO 2025), Melbourne, Australia.

The paper by Zann Koh, Benny Ng, Sam Joyce, Belinda Yuen and Chau Yuen titled ” Understanding Park Visitors Mobility via Passive Wi-Fi Sensing and Data Mining” won the Best Paper Award at MobiArch 2024.

SUTD is proud to announce that six individuals from SUTD have been selected as the 2024 World Cities Summit Young Leaders. The Young Leaders are selected from a large number of invited nominations made by senior leaders from public, private and academic sectors.

LKYCIC is pleased to announce that Dr Cai Yanjun’s paper titled Resilient Placemaking through Urban Stream Restoration in Guangzhou, China, written with Prof. Chen Zhihe from Sun Yat-sen University won the Best Paper Award in the Lien International Conference on Good Governance, organised by Nanyang Technological University.

The MND Medallion acknowledges individuals who have served and contributed significantly to the Ministry of National Development.

The award was presented by Lord Mayor Nuatali Helmes to Prof Cheong along with five other distinguished recipients who are recognised for their accomplishments, contribution and support to the connection between Singapore and the City of Newcastle.

Dr Thijs Willems’ PhD dissertation was selected alongside four other winners. They were recognised for their dissertation papers’ outstanding quality, true interdisciplinary methods, originality, international scope and excellent readability.
