Singapore will allow up to 20,000 more vehicles to hit the roads over the next few years, which is around two per cent of the current total. Additional certificates of entitlement (COEs) will be introduced over time across all categories from next February. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman speak to Dr Samuel Chng, Research Assistant Professor, Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities, SUTD, to examine the impact on demand with these extra COEs.
