Commencement Speech 2015 SUTD President Professor Thomas L. Magnanti

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore’s fourth public university, has received an endowed gift of S$1 million from Dr Stephen Riady for the funding of SUTD-developed technological innovations.

The Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) will undertake collaborative projects and initiatives that could deliver transformational capabilities for Singapore’s defence and security.

MR SAMUEL Lee Bai Song took a calculated risk and chose to cast his lot with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in 2012 when it first opened its doors to its pioneer batch of students.

SUTD’s iTrust, a cyber systems research centre, has set up a Secure Water Treatment (SWaT) testbed to enable researchers to create novel designs and assess the response of SWaT to a variety of cyber attacks and conditions of natural disasters, so as to better defend against them. Other testbeds to be set up, are related to smart grids, water storage and distribution systems, and the Internet of Things.
