ISTD Pillar is proud to congratulate Assistant Professor Peng Song on receiving the Best Paper Award (1st Place) at the Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling (SPM) 2026, a premier international conference in geometric and physical modelling.

The award-winning paper, “PoseFusion: Fusing Neural Implicit Surfaces for Multi-view Reconstruction from Multi-pose Captures”, presents an AI-driven framework for multi-pose, multi-view 3D reconstruction. Conducted in collaboration with researchers from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the research introduces a novel approach that registers and fuses neural implicit surfaces into a unified 3D representation, enabling the reconstruction of complex objects from images captured across multiple poses.

This achievement highlights SUTD’s strength in Applied AI Research, particularly at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and 3D geometric modelling. The award recognises the quality and impact of the research contribution within the international geometric and physical modelling community.

SPM is a leading international forum for geometric and physical modelling research, and all accepted papers are published in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), a leading journal in the field with an impact factor of 3.2.

We extend our congratulations to Prof Peng and his collaborators on this outstanding achievement and their contribution to advancing the frontiers of AI-enabled 3D reconstruction research.
