Congratulations to Assistant Professor Simon Perrault and his PhD student Gionnieve Lim for winning the Steve Howard Best Student Paper Award at the OzCHi 2023 35th Australian Conference on Human-Computer Interaction for their paper titled “XAI in Automated Fact-Checking? The Benefits Are Modest And There’s No One-Explanation-Fits-All”.
OzCHI is the annual non-profit conference for the Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group (CHISIG) and Australia’s leading forum for the latest in HCI research and practice. OzCHI attracts a broad international community of researchers, industry practitioners, academics and students. Participants come from a range of backgrounds and include interaction designers, user experience (UX) practitioners, information architects, software engineers, human factors experts, information systems analysts and social scientists.
The Steve Howard Award recognises the late Professor Steve Howard’s commitment to supporting and developing excellence in Higher Degree Research students. To be nominated, the first author of the long paper must be an enrolled student.
