Professor Zhou Jianying receives IEEE Fellow designation

Professor Zhou Jianying has been recognised as an IEEE Fellow. He is among a total of 350 selected in the IEEE Fellow Class of 2026.

For contributions to applied cryptography and cyber-physical system security.

The IEEE Fellow designation is among the highest honours conferred by IEEE to those who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement or practical application of engineering, science, and technology, delivering significant benefits to society. The number of individuals elevated to IEEE Fellow each year is limited to no more than 0.1% of the total IEEE voting membership.

ISTD faculty with IEEE Fellow designation

Currently, ISTD Pillar has three faculty who have received the IEEE Fellow designation:

  • Prof Li Xiaoli: Prof Li is a leading expert in machine learning.
  • Prof Tony Quek: Prof Quek is renowned for his contributions to heterogeneous and wireless networks.
  • Prof Zhou Jianying: Prof Zhou specialises in applied cryptography and cyber-physical system security.

This recognition further highlights the strength of ISTD Pillar as an internationally recognised pillar of excellence, comprising of well-known experts who lead cutting-edge research and education. With Professors Li Xiaoli, Tony Quek, and newly appointed Zhou Jianying as IEEE Fellows, ISTD stands as a global leader in artificial intelligence, communications, and cybersecurity.
