Stackable Programme
Overview
SUTD Academy’s Stackable Programme offers a unique, modular learning pathway specially designed for working professionals and adult learners who want to upskill, reskill and advance their careers, with the added flexibility of building credits toward a well-recognised master’s degree from SUTD.
By completing a curated series of stackable courses from postgraduate programmes, you can stack credits toward the Master of Science in Technology and Design (MTD), a postgraduate degree conferred by SUTD, which is at the forefront of design, technology and innovation.
Why choose SUTD Academy’s Stackable Programme?
- Build credits toward the Master of Science in Technology and Design (MTD) programme – elevate your career with a master’s degree programme offering diverse specialisations at the forefront of design, technology, and innovation, including areas such as data science, sustainable product design and human-centred design.
- Learn flexibly and affordably – the individual courses offered in the Stackable Programme are eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) subsidies for eligible learners, thus lowering your overall cost to pursue the MTD degree.
- Set your own pace – you can take up to five years (the maximum period of candidature) to complete the full MTD through this stackable pathway, making it ideal for busy professionals.
Important note:
While entry to individual courses does not require prerequisites, learners intending to progress and apply stacked credits toward the MTD must fulfil the MTD’s admission criteria, including holding a recognised bachelor’s degree. Some courses may also require relevant work experience or qualifications to ensure effective learning. |
How does Stackable Programme work?
- Attain a Certificate of Completion (COC) for each successfully completed course. Stack up to 4 COCs within the relevant programme toward a Master of Science in Technology and Design (MTD) degree.
- Complete three relevant courses to earn a Graduate Certificate (GC).
Learners wishing to transfer their course credits to the relevant MTD programme must ensure their credits comply with the University’s current credit transfer policy, which includes the following requirements:
- A minimum grade of C+ (GPA of 2.5) must be achieved for the course, unless otherwise specified.
- The validity period for exemption or credit transfer is five years from the date the credit units were awarded, as indicated on the official transcript.
- The course credits must not have been previously used for exemption or credit transfer in another postgraduate programme.
