SUTD Design Innovator (DI) Award
Overview
At SUTD, we believe in the power of design and innovation to shape the world. The SUTD Design Innovator (DI) Award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional creativity, ingenuity, and leadership in design and innovation, aligning with SUTD’s vision of trailblazing a better world by design.
Eligibility
The Award is open to Singapore Citizens* who
- are applying for admission to SUTD’s undergraduate degree programme;
- possess outstanding achievements in design innovation, leadership and/or entrepreneurship; and
- possess the attitude, desire, and potential to contribute to the vibrancy of the SUTD community.
* As a special concession, the Award may also be awarded to Singapore Permanent Residents or International Students who have demonstrated exceptional attributes.
Benefits
- The Award provides a one-time grant of S$10,000 to offset subsidised tuition fees for the first two terms.
- The Award recipient may be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of relevant eligibility criteria.
No bond is attached to the Award. The recipient must take up the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) from the Singapore Government to enjoy subsidised fees.
Terms & Conditions
- Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
- Recipients may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
- The Award may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
- If the recipient decides to withdraw from the University, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
Application procedure
- Award recipients will be selected by the Admissions Selection Committee as part of the admission review process. Recipients will be notified of the award along with their admission offer.
- SUTD reserves the right not to award any grants if there are no candidates of sufficient merit.
