Chong Tow Chong – SUTD Scholarship

The Chong Tow Chong – SUTD Scholarship is established to recognise outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence and have a penchant for creating radical technology and innovative designs.
Eligibility
  • Singapore Citizen*
  • Applying for admission to SUTD’s undergraduate degree programme
  • Have outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent qualifications
  • Have a passion for technology and design

* As a special concession, the Scholarship may also be awarded to Singapore Permanent Residents or International Students who have demonstrated exceptional and outstanding achievements.

Benefits of award
  • The Scholarship covers the subsidised tuition fees (after Tuition Grant) for the normal duration (up to four years) of the respective bachelor degree programmes at SUTD#.
  • There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.

# For Scholarships awarded to SIngapore Permanent Residents or International Students, tuition fees coverage will be capped at the fees payable by a Singapore Citizen. 

Terms & conditions
  1. The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
  2. If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
  3. The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of SUTD, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
  4. The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.
  5. Recipients are required to complete at least 20 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
Application procedures
  1. Interested incoming students should apply for the Scholarship when applying for admission to SUTD.
  2. Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
  3. Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
  4. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
  5. SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
