| Mr Choo Chiau Beng
Mr Choo Chiau Beng is a Singaporean businessman and the former CEO of Keppel Corporation from 2009 to 2013. He established the Choo-Lim SUTD Sustainability Scholarship to pay homage to his parents, Mr Choo Lye Heng and Mdm Lim Swee Hiang, who made great sacrifices to raise him and his five siblings. Through this scholarship, Mr Choo also wishes to pay it forward as a former recipient of the Colombo Plan Scholarship that saw him through his university education in England.
Just as the Colombo Plan Scholarship profoundly shaped his and his family’s trajectories in life, Mr Choo hopes that the Choo-Lim SUTD Sustainability Scholarship will pave the way for Singapore’s future engineers and technologists to grow, flourish, and make the world a better place. |
