KKH – SUTD Scholarship
Through the generous support of Mr Kuok Khoon Hong, this Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
- Full-time undergraduate students of any nationality, enrolled in any degree programme
- Good academic standing
- Demonstrated financial need with monthly Per Capita Income of S$2,500 and below
- Demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement
- Believes in giving back to society
Benefits of award
- Each Award is valued at S$15,000 per academic year and shall be applied towards the payment of annual tuition fees and other study-related expenses.
- There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Tenure
- Each Award is tenable for 1 academic year.
- The recipient is eligible to apply for a second year if the scholarship terms are met in the first year (see Terms & conditions below).
Terms & conditions
- Recipients must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment.
- Interviews will be conducted for first-time applicants.
- Recipients who meet the scholarship terms and reapply for the second year will be awarded the scholarship for the second year and do not need to be interviewed again.
- The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term.
- Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
- Pledged contributions will commence one year upon graduation, payable in full or over a maximum period of 3 years.
- Recipients are strongly encouraged to uphold the donor’s values of paying-it-forward by contributing back a pledged sum equal to one-fifth of the scholarship sum received to SUTD towards the Scholarship to help future generations of SUTD students.
Application procedure
- Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
- Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
- SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
