Sing Lun – SUTD Scholarship
Supported by Sing Lun Holdings Pte Ltd, the Sing Lun – SUTD Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
- Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
- Sophomore enrolled in the Healthcare Engineering Track offered by Engineering Product Development (EPD) pillar at SUTD
- Good academic standing
- Good moral character and community spirit
Benefits of award
- Each Award is valued at S$15,000 per academic year and shall be applied to the payment of annual tuition fees and study-related expenses.
- There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Tenure
Each Award is tenable for up to 3 academic years.
Terms & conditions
- Recipients must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment.
- Recipients must achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term.
- Recipients are required to complete at least 20 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
- Recipients may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
- The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
- If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
Application procedures
- Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
- Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
- SUTD reserves the right not to award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.

Mr Patrick Lee Kwok Kie, Chairman of Sing Lun Holdings Pte Ltd, President of Yangzheng Foundation, and Chairman of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital’s Board of Directors, generously donated $1 million to establish the new Sing Lun Scholarship and Bursary at SUTD. The Company was incorporated in 1951 and has always place its CSR focus in 3 key areas, namely Healthcare for the elderly and less fortunate, Education for the under privileged and Cultural appreciation. Through the scholarships and bursaries, the Group hopes to provide opportunities to deserving students and financial assistance to students in need and help build a more inclusive and better society. |
