Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation – SUTD Scholarship
Supported by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation (SCCCF), this Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
- Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Full-time second year undergraduates of the University in any degree programme
- Must have achieved a pass for Term 1 and currently maintains a minimum of CGPA 4.0 per academic term from Term 2 onwards
- Demonstrate strong leadership, active Fifth Row activities and community service involvement (advantageous)
- Have good character records
- Demonstrate keen interest in Chinese business and culture
Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated financial need, where Per Capita Income is at S$2,500 per month or less, or at the prevailing upper limit for monthly household Per Capita Income as specified by the Ministry of Education for the eligibility criteria for the Higher Education Bursary.
Benefits of award
- The Scholarship is valued at S$15,000 per academic year for up to 3 academic years and shall be applied towards the payment of tuition fees and study-related expenses.
- There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Terms & conditions
- Candidates will undergo an interview with SCCCF to assess suitability for the scholarship.
- The recipient must:
- Attend an award presentation ceremony organised by SCCCF
- Attend at least 1 meeting session and volunteer at events and ceremonies organised by SCCCF and/or its Scholars Network
- The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
- If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
- The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of SUTD, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
- The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.
- Recipients are required to complete at least 20 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
Application procedure
- Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
- Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
- SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
