Wilmar – SUTD Scholarship

Supported by Wilmar International Limited, this Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.
Eligibility
  • All nationalities
  • Full-time undergraduate students in any year and enrolled in any undergraduate degree programme
  • Has good academic standing
  • Demonstrated financial need with monthly Per Capita Income of S$2,500 and below
  • Active in Fifth Row and demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement
  • Believe in giving back to society
Benefits of award
  • The Scholarship is valued at S$15,000 per academic year for up to 1 academic year and shall be applied towards the payment of tuition fees and study-related expenses.
  • The recipient will be eligible to be re-awarded the Scholarship once, i.e. for a total Scholarship duration of two (2) years.
  • There is no bond to be fulfilled towards the donor.
Terms & conditions
  1. The recipient may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.
  2. If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
  3. The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of SUTD, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.
  4. The recipient must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government during enrolment. Read more on the Tuition Grant Scheme here.
  5. Recipients are strongly encouraged to uphold the donor’s values of paying-it-forward by contributing back a pledged sum equal to one-fifth of the scholarship sum received to SUTD towards the Scholarship to help future generations of SUTD students.
  6. Pledged contributions will commence one year upon graduation, payable in full or over a maximum period of 3 years.
  7. Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.
Application procedure
  1. Interested incoming students should apply for the Scholarship when applying for admission to SUTD.
  2. Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.
  3. Shortlisted applicants will be notified in due course.
  4. Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
  5. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
  6. SUTD reserves the right not to award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
