Architectural Representation of Song China

Drawing upon multiple modes of visual representation of architecture in Song Dynasty China, this research aims to offer an alternative, holistic view of Chinese spatial cognitive system, and illustrate how this had influenced the development of architecture and technology in imperial China. Spanning across different disciplines including architecture, urban design, art history, and cognitive psychology, the research also develops new methodology for studying spatial concepts in regional context.
