Undergraduate

Residential living is an integrated part of the SUTD Freshmore experience, complementing cohort-based learning within and outside of the classroom. With effect from Academic Year 2026, it is compulsory for undergraduate students to live in the hostel for their first three terms, and a considerable number of hostel places have been set aside for them.

The remaining undergraduate places are allocated according to the undergraduate housing allocation scheme, a ground-up initiative by a committee consisting of student leaders. The scheme aims to create a safe hostel environment as well as a vibrant hostel community interacting with and supporting one another, while achieving a good mix of local and international students within the hostel. For housing after Term 3, students should submit their applications online during the main housing application exercise held each February. A supplementary housing exercise may be conducted in November for students who wish to stay from the January term, subject to vacancies. Information on the housing exercises will be published on this webpage one week before the start of each exercise.

Housing for Term 3 (AY2025 cohort only)

Term 2 students in the hostel (AY2025 cohort) will be given the option to continue their stay for Term 3, starting from the end of Term 2. As this is a continuation of stay, students need not apply for Term 3 housing during the housing exercise. More information will be shared with residents via email.

This exercise applies to students who wish to apply for housing as indicated in the table below. Places will be allocated according to the undergraduate housing allocation scheme.
