How do I receive my ModularMaster Certificate?
Upon completion of all modules within the specific ModularMaster Programme, you may proceed to submit all your module certificates for our review at sutd_academy@sutd.edu.sg, indicating your wish to apply for your ModularMaster Certificate.
Please ensure that you have met all the requirements for the ModularMaster Certificate Programme, including:
- Earn the required number of subject credits within a two-year period;
- Provide any relevant documents if you plan to include third-party certification/qualification for subject credit recognition.
How many subject credits do I need to accumulate for the ModularMaster Certificate Programme?
The requirement to complete a ModularMaster Certificate Programme is 72 subject credits.
Please note that the ModularMaster credit units are not equivalent to the academic credits of undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes.
*Note: The requirement for learners who started the programme before 1 August 2020 (and completed within the 2-year candidature period) was 60 subject credits.
How does the Graduate Certificate programme work?
A Graduate Certificate is a short-term programme where participants can take up to 1 year to earn 36 Subject Credits to fulfil the requirements of the certification.
Unlike the ModularMaster Certificate programme, participants take on a prescribed learning pathway, completing the modules in the respective Graduate Certificate learning pathway.
How much does it cost to get a ModularMaster Certificate Programme?
The cost of completing a ModularMaster Certificate Programme at SUTD Academy varies based on the number of modules chosen. Given the programme’s flexibility, precise cost estimates are difficult to provide, as total expenses depend on each participant’s specific module selections.
How long can I take to complete the ModularMaster certificate programme?
The candidature period for ModularMaster Certificate Programme is 2 years; to earn and aggregate the required 72 Subject Credits.
Is it necessary to sign up for the entire ModularMaster programme upfront?
No, there’s no need to enroll upfront (except for SCTP). Unlike traditional programmes, ModularMaster Certificate Programmes are flexible and modular. You can select the modules under the specific domain you prefer and combine the necessary Subject Credits to qualify for the MM credential.
Must I follow the sequence of the modules to complete the ModularMaster programme?
You do not have to follow a specific sequence for majority of the modules in order to complete the ModularMaster Certificate Programme. You can take individual modules at your own pace. However, the programme must be completed within a 2-year candidature period. To earn the ModularMaster Certificate, all required modules under the specific domain must be completed within this timeframe.
Is the ModularMaster a Master’s degree?
No, the ModularMaster programme is not a Master’s degree. It is a unique micro-credential initiative that offers a suite of short, modular professional development courses. Participants can choose to take individual modules separately, stack them towards a Graduate Certificate, or pursue the full ModularMaster (MM) Certificate.
Can I use my SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) to offset the course fees?
Effective 1 May 2024, a S$4,000 SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up will be available to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for specific courses aimed at improving employability. Currently, at SUTD Academy, this top-up is applicable solely to programmes within the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP).
Can anyone enroll in a ModularMaster Certificate Programme?
Modules are open to the public. Due to their technical nature, participants are expected to have basic scientific or technical knowledge, or relevant work experience.
