Healthcare education for students
SUTD develops new healthcare-focused courses in partnership with industry and hospitals. Some of these include sponsored, hands-on design projects with industry and faculty mentorship. Outstanding students may also gain conditional admission to the Duke-NUS Medical School’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme.

Capstone programme
Take on a two-term, student-led project based on problem statements provided by healthcare professionals and companies.
Internship/Industry research
Apply what you’ve learned in class to a professional, real-world environment throughout this 16 or 8-week programme, held during the summer vacation.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programmeme (UROP)
Join two-term, faculty-led or student-initiated projects that let you explore your research interests.
Participate in different phases of standard research activity, including planning, writing proposals, conducting research, data analysis and presenting your findings — verbally and in writing.
Independent Activity Period (IAP) programme
A prelude for students interested in biomedical and healthcare innovation.
Embark on site visits to hospital facilities and an attachment with a healthcare professional, for a first-hand experience of day-to-day operations and challenges faced in the course of healthcare delivery.
SUTD-Duke-NUS Special Track
This unique cross-discipline collaboration nurtures future clinicians who use their skills in technology & design to transform the future of healthcare treatment and medicine.
Special-Track students graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Science (BSc) degree from SUTD upon successful completion of the programme to be a clinical innovator.
Upon graduation, you may also gain conditional admission to Duke-NUS Medical School’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme.
