Introduction to Healthcare Technology (From AY2026)
This course provides a foundational understanding of biology essential for understanding and exploring healthcare challenges in Singapore. Key topics include cell biology, genetic inheritance, cell signaling, and the human immune system.
Students will discover how disruptions in these biological systems contribute to chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and genetic disorders, explored through various case studies. The course also highlights emerging technologies that are transforming how we understand and treat various diseases. In addition, students will gain hands-on experience with practical applications and common laboratory techniques used in molecular biology and protein biochemistry.
