User Experience: Understanding Culture for Design

Course description

This course introduces key methodologies in the design of products, systems and services for human users. A particular focus of the course is the role of culture and cultural difference in shaping how users interact with designed products and services.

 

Research methods including ethnography, empathy, semiotics, and futures-thinking are applied to create human-centred designs that are attuned to culture, cultural difference, and cultural change.
