Biography
Mr Jeffrey Sim Vee Ming is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SBS Transit.
A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore, (IES) Mr Sim is a member of its Transportation Standards Committee. He is Chief Expert of Rapid Transit Systems for World Skills Singapore and chairs the National Workplace Learning Certification Award Committee.
Globally, he is the Chairman of the UITP Asia-Pacific Urban Rail Committee, the UITP National Ambassador for Singapore, and is a member of the UITP Policy Board.
Recognised for his thought leadership, Mr Sim is a C-Suite in Residence at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) where he contributes strategic perspectives and insights about urban transport issues to faculty and students, influences curriculum development and nurtures young talent to advance the future of mobility. He also serves on the Advisory Board of SUTD’s Engineering Systems and Design pillar as well as on the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Mechanical Engineering programme, the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Engineering Systems programme and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Asia.
For his leadership, he was honoured with the Top CEO Award in 2026 by Influential Brands. In 2025, he was conferred the Impact Leader Excellence Award at the Sustainability Impact Awards organised by The Business Times and UOB for his leadership in environmental stewardship and corporate sustainability and the Medal of Commendation at the NTUC May Day Awards, in recognition of his efforts in championing the welfare and well-being of employees.
Mr Sim holds a Bachelor (Honours) and a Master of Engineering from NUS as well as a Master of Arts (with distinction) from Massey University, New Zealand. He has also attended executive management programmes conducted by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the NUS Business School, as well as the Advanced Management Programme conducted by INSEAD.
