Congratulations to Assistant Professor Zehui Xiong for winning the Best Paper Award in the IEEE International Conference on Communications (IEEE ICC).

IEEE ICC is one of the IEEE Communications Society’s two flagship conferences dedicated to driving innovation in nearly every aspect of communications. The 2022 IEEE ICC will be held in the world-famous Gangnam district which is the most vibrant part of the city of Seoul, Korea, from 16 to 20 May 2022. Themed “Intelligent Connectivity for Smart World,” this flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society will feature a comprehensive high-quality technical program including 13 symposia and a variety of tutorials and workshops. IEEE ICC 2022 will also include an attractive industry program aimed at practitioners, with keynotes and panels from prominent research, industry and government leaders, business and industry panels, and technological exhibits.

The 2022 IEEE ICC received nearly 2500 submissions and a total of 16 papers were selected by the committee for the Best Paper Award as a result of rigorous nomination and review process. The co-chairs of each symposium nominated a set of top papers for the award, and these nominations were reviewed by a committee of 19 respected scholars. The committee considered each nominated paper, its reviewer comments, a nomination statement by the symposium co-chairs, and the recorded video presentation. As a result of the process, a total of 16 papers were selected by the committee for the Best Paper Award – one paper for each of the 11 smallest symposia, two papers for the Wireless Communications Symposium, and three papers for the Selected Areas in Communications Symposium.
