Synopsis

This talk will provide an explanation of Experimental Economics as a discipline, focusing specifically on its methodology and the process of designing experiments with human subjects in both laboratory and field settings. Practical applications of this discipline will be shared using a recent project that explores the construction and implementation of an economic experiment involving teenagers. Results of the project indicate that running the experiment as a school activity, adding visual elements to the experimental interface and letting the teacher run the experiment improves the quality of answers. It also shows that not paying subjects or allowing them to reply on their mobile phone does not affect results.
