Rasa-Tabula-Singapura: Conversations on Superdiversity

Taking the exhibition’s central proposition of Singapore as a “Table of Superdiversity” as a point of departure, the event brings together the SUTD ASD faculty curatorial team for an afternoon of conversations exploring the research, ideas and processes behind the exhibition.

Through a series of focused discussions, the programme will examine Singapore as a city shaped by overlapping flows of people, cultures, infrastructure, policies, technologies, ecologies and other forms of knowledge. Discussions will consider how Superdiversity is expressed not only through demographics and multicultural identities, but also through the built environment, encompassing housing, food systems, land use, greening, heritage, mobility, labour, public space and everyday urban life.

Framing the city as a shared table, the programme invites participants to engage with the curatorial thinking behind the Singapore Pavilion and reflect on how diverse histories, communities, systems and intelligences have shaped Singapore’s urban condition. Together, we will consider how these perspectives might inform more liveable, inclusive, resilient and imaginative urban futures.
