Does green urbanism work together with TOD?

Asian cities are adopting green technology solutions, called “green urbanism.” However, those cities are also applying transit-oriented development (TOD) principles. How do they work together for sustainability?

Asian cities are adopting green technology solutions, called “green urbanism.” However, those cities are also applying transit-oriented development (TOD) principles. How do they work together for sustainability? There is no scientific evidence on “Green + TOD” practices. It is assumable that some combinations of green urbanism elements (eg, renewable energy facilities, green spaces) and TOD principles have mixed effects on building energy consumption, travel behaviour change and public transport usage, and private real estate investment and price appreciation. Evidence on energy intensity, travel behaviour, and property value from Singapore will be provided to help us advance new spatial theories and guide urban policymaking & environmental design practices for key sustainable development goals.
