Networking with experts in human-centred design
Our Master of Science in Technology and Design (Human-Centred Design) programme was honoured to host Ms Liu Hanmo (Hana), Product Experience Design Expert, and Mr Shu Weiqi from Tencent LightSpeed Studios (Singapore) as part of our Dialogues with Leaders series.
In her lecture, Design for growth, Ms Liu introduced students to the principles of the growth hacker model and the importance of data-driven thinking in modern product design. Drawing on real-world case studies from JOOX and Tencent, she demonstrated how user behaviour and data analytics can inform design decisions that drive rapid product growth. The session also explored how user-centred design aligns with business strategy, and how designers can shape user journeys and influence decision-making. Ms Liu also analysed product goals across different development stages and showed how the growth hacker model can be used to tailor design strategies to meet evolving needs.
Mr Shu Weiqi added on to the session by sharing insights into team collaboration and innovation processes at Tencent LightSpeed Studios and offer students a deeper look into the dynamics of design in a fast-paced real working environment.
The Dialogues with Leaders series is an initiative to strengthen connections between the Human-Centred Design Master’s program and industry, in hoping to enrich student learning through first-hand professional perspectives. We are welcoming more distinguished guests to SUTD in future sessions.
