vDimension is a video content management system, powered by Panopto, used to stream videos of learning materials for secure sharing with students via eDimension.

Faculty should note that you will need to add vDImension to your eDimension course in order to use it.

Please refer to the user guides and references below for more information.

Recording your screen

Screen recording can be used for Flipped Learning. You can record a mini lecture on your computer and it can be made available for students ahead of the lesson. It is also possible to create tutorial videos, allowing students to revisit explanations for better understanding.

You can record your computer screen/audio and use the recordings as part of your course materials.

Please take note of the following when recording your screen:

  • To record and listen to audio associated with your screen recording, you will need a microphone and speakers.
  • Make sure there is enough disk space on your local drive to record and save your screen recording.

Uploading videos and media files

Due to limited storage space in eDimension, we strongly recommend all instructors to upload lecture videos to SUTD’s video streaming server, vDimension.

Videos uploaded to vDimension can be linked back seamlessly to your course in eDimension, allowing students to access them easily.

You need to first add vDImension to your eDimension course before uploading your videos.

Please refer to the user guide below for instructions on how to do so.
