IEEE 802.11ad based Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC): design, prototype and performance analysis

ISTD Seminar by Sumit J. Darak – The talk will present the recommendation to enable the IEEE 802.11ad framework to support for radar-based localisation of mobile users while maintaining compatibility with the existing communication protocol requirements; signal processing and online learning-based algorithms for supporting radar-based detection and localisation of mobile users as well as estimation of channel conditions in both static and quasi-static scenarios.

The lecture provides a brief overview of partial derivatives, scalar & vector fields, as well as applying operators on them. Using the Wave Equation, it is demonstrated through a practical example how a partial differential equation can be numerically solved on the GPU to achieve a water simulation.

Satellites bring a wide range of exciting new possibilities such as offering 4G/5G services to remote, underserved regions and enabling new business cases. Mobile network operators and satellite communications providers are collaborating to explore, design and deploy multi-layers satellite networks selecting the best fitting satellite options ranging from proprietary, 3GPP unmodified (aka Direct to Cell/Device) and 3GPP Release 17 and beyond NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) standards required to fulfil the requirements for their business and use cases.
