Cybersecurity today: Attacks are real! Will AI save the day?
Cybersecurity is a real, daily threat. In this talk, we will see how we can study cybersecurity incidents using publicly-available information to understand the technical details, and see how Cyber defenders can better protect their systems. At the same time, AI has permeated many aspects of our daily lives. Will AI be able to help Cyber defenders? We take a look at some recent developments in AI usage for cybersecurity analysis.
Speaker’s profile
Dr Tan Jiaqi is a Principal Member of Technical Staff and Programme Director for Information Assurance at DSO National Laboratories with over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity research. He currently leads a team of cybersecurity researchers whose research focuses on developing cybersecurity tools and techniques to more effectively analyse complex software systems to ensure that they are free from cybersecurity vulnerabilities. He holds a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science, all from Carnegie Mellon University.
