Speaker’s profile

Mr Heng Kwee Tong, began his career in R&D at the Centre for Wireless Communications, NUS (the predecessor of I²R) before embarking on a 16 years career with Singtel where he led the transition to VoIP, IPTV and FTTH.

He is currently CTO at SPTel, where he leads network engineering and cybersecurity initiatives providing critical communications services for enterprises and government customers in Singapore.

He is also serving as member of the IMDA Technology Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC) and has served in various industry expert panels including IMDA National InfoComms Competency Framework (NICF), DSTA Expert Panel and ITE Academic Advisory Committee.

Kwee Tong graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Engineering) degree from NTU and holds a Master of Science in Communications & Signal Processing from the University of Bristol, UK.

He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of engineers and sharing practical lessons from building real‑world networks at scale in Singapore’s dynamic digital economy.
