“Making Cities of the Future Better Today” – LKYCIC Lecture in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Dr Harvey Neo delivered a lecture titled “Making Cities of the Future Better Today” to top-government officials and industry and university leaders in Cambodia in an event jointly organised by the Embassy of Singapore in Cambodia and Cambodia’s Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.
LKYCIC-SASS Academic and Research Exchange
The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) recently to explore research and academic collaborations in cities. As part of the collaboration, a delegation comprising Prof Cheong Koon Hean, Dr Harvey Neo and Dr Samuel Chng (LKYCIC) and Assoc Prof Yeo Kang Shua (Architecture and Sustainable Design; ASD) visited Shanghai from 20 to 24 Aug 2023 for an academic exchange with the Shanghai Academy of Social Science.

In 2019, Singapore generated 744 million kilograms of food waste. To put it into perspective, that is equivalent to 51,000 double-decker buses. Globally, a whopping 1/3 of all food for human consumption goes to waste every year.
