From the April 2026 academic intake, Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) will expand its learning pathways to give students greater flexibility in how they earn academic credits. Under the new “Go Beyond” programme, students may accumulate credits through multiple routes, including industry-certified professional courses, overseas exchanges or internships, and selected university-level modules.

Separately, the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) announced that from the 2026 academic year, all first-year students will receive structured training in design AI skills. The programme will teach students how to integrate AI tools into design processes such as user research, ideation and prototyping, including the use of platforms like ComfyUI and Midjourney.

SUTD Provost and Chief Academic & Innovation Officer Professor Chee Yeow Meng said early exposure to AI is critical to help students adapt to rapid technological change and develop lifelong capabilities for future challenges.
