Biography

Daryl Ho is a Faculty Early Career Award (FECA) Fellow in Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Daryl’s research operates at the intersection of extended reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), and philosophy, exploring how immersive technologies and spatial media can open new paradigms of cultural and epistemic praxis. His current work explores the development of XR platforms as critical design instruments that engage with discourse surrounding spatial experience and technological mediation, bringing philosophy of technology and media theory into productive dialogue with design research and creative practice at a moment when XR and AI are fundamentally reshaping the conditions of embodied practice and epistemic access.

Daryl received his PhD from SUTD, where he was awarded the President Graduate Fellowship. As part of his broader engagement with computational approaches to territorial and environmental design, Daryl has held a visiting research position at Aalto University under the Computational Methodologies in Landscape Architecture and Urbanism department. In parallel, he is actively involved in teaching and conducting workshops that critically examine the role of digital media and emerging technologies in design practice and pedagogy.
