Biography
Having spent his formative years in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and then Melbourne, Teik Rong believes that great design lies at the intersection of craft, value-proposition, and collaboration. He graduated from RMIT where his student works were exhibited as part of the 2nd Rotterdam Biennale, a pilgrimage around Europe at that time led to his winning entry for the URA Marina South Ideas Competition. Teik Rong joined RSP Singapore in 2009 and was part of the design team that participated in many competitions and projects including *SCAPE, Westgate, BCA Academy, Karle Residences, Charlton Residences etc. He obtained his Master of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Research Assistant in the Vertical Cities Asia Symposium, a joint-collaboration with ETH, Delft, HKU, Tsinghua and NUS. From 2014 to 2018, Teik Rong was part of RSP Beijing where he led and curated RSP’s exhibition for the Beijing Design Week. He also oversaw the ID and relocation of the office to its current location at Pinguo Arts Street. Additionally, he was the design team lead for many notable projects, including the winning design for Dareway Software IT Campus in Shandong Jinan. Teik Rong returned to Singapore in 2018 and re-joined the Singapore RSP office. He currently oversees RSP’s projects in Cambodia and has been involved in other local jobs like Resorts World Sentosa Expansion.
