Title: Extending Density Functional Theory(DFT) to Strongly Correlated Materials
PI: Professor Ricky Ang, Dr Ang Yee Sin

Biography

Jin Quan did his FYP using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and decided to pursue his interest in condensed matter physics, using DFT to study Shastry Sutherland materials for 2 years in NTU as a Project Officer. He is currently pursuing a PhD of extending DFT to strongly correlated materials under the joint supervision of Professor Ricky Ang and Dr Ang Yee Sin. He hopes to use DFT on as many materials as possible and is open to exploring other methods outside of DFT.

Outside of research, he can be found singing, dancing, rapping, drawing or chasing after airplanes for photos.
