StartSomething 2025
In September 2025, over 200 SUTD students embarked on their entrepreneurial journeys through StartSomething, SUTD’s flagship programme designed to introduce students to innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
Through a series of immersive workshops, participants were challenged to identify real-world problems, develop innovative solutions, and transform ideas into action. Following the programme’s Ideate, Build, and Launch journey, students gained hands-on experience in problem-solving, pitching, teamwork, and venture creation while exploring possibilities beyond the classroom.
The impact of the programme extended well beyond the workshops. Close to half of the participants went on to pitch their ideas for the Baby Shark Fund (BSF), taking the next step in developing their ventures. Among them, three teams, Common Ground, Sunday, and Thermal Edge, progressed from receiving the S$2,000 Baby Shark Fund to securing S$6,000 in funding in the subsequent round.
By encouraging students to turn ideas into meaningful solutions, StartSomething embodied the DIVE RC outcomes of Imagining new possibilities and Venturing into the unknown with creativity, initiative, and purpose.
