SUTD breaking new ground in university education
15/11/11, The Straits Times
Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said SUTD's curriculum draws on major elements of MIT's teaching and approaches, but still has the advantage of starting from a clean slate. He also noted that the design of the new campus, which does away with individual buildings for the different disciplines, will encourage collaborative learning.

The collaboration between SUTD and MIT is MIT’s largest for undergraduate education. MIT is involved in developing and deploying the undergraduate curriculum, establishing a major research centre and developing SUTD’s leadership team and faculty.
