A businessman was cheated out of over S$4.9 million by scammers impersonating senior government officials using deepfake technology. Senior lecturer Dr Victor Keong suggested that senior executives are accustomed to making quick decisions when matters involve sensitive issues or national interests and scammers exploit this characteristic, turning it into a weapon against them.
