Achievements

In the latest “World’s Top 2%” scientists list released by Stanford University in September 2025, SUTD faculty were listed across fields including artificial intelligence & image processing, networking & telecommunications, optics and applied physics.

ESD PhD alumnus Wayne Ng, current PhD student Marcus Koh and Assistant Prof Nuno Ribeiro were awarded by the Air Transportation Section at the INFORMS Annual Meeting.

A team made up of DAI, CSD, and ESD students were selected as finalists at the SHRI HR Hackathon 2025: HR Game Changers Rethinking Workplace.

DAI and ESD students worked with two external pharmacists and clinched 1st runner-up at SGHackItRX 2025 with their project, PillSnap.

SUTD President Professor Phoon Kok Kwang, as well as Prof Tony Quek (Head of ISTD), Prof Yang Hui Ying (EPD), Assoc Prof Soujanya Poria (ISTD), and Assistant Prof Xiong Zehui (ISTD), are also named Highly Ranked Scholar based on prior five-year activity.

ESD senior, Anirudh Bharadwaj, together with CSD seniors, Akash Chandrasekar and Sarang Nirwan participated in the competition Raise the Bär: BJB Global Student Innovation Program from April – June 2024 and emerged as winners

Jordan Tay (ESD Masters), Jetanat Datephanyawat (ESD PhD), Nutchanon Suvittawat (ESD PhD), Liu Zhihao (ESD PhD) and Christian Kurniawan (ISTD PhD) won the 2nd runner up award

Amrita Shah and Gunjan Agarwal achieved the first runner-up position in the final round of the Project Management Institute Singapore Chapter Student Competition 2023
