DAI and ESD students worked with two external pharmacists and clinched 1st runner-up at SGHackItRX 2025 with their project, PillSnap.

SGHackItRX 2025, organised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore and lasted from August to September 2025, brought together healthcare professionals, developers, data specialists, entrepreneurs and designers to build working prototypes that address healthcare challenges such as staff burnout and improving care. Teams were required to include at least one pharmacist, with shortlisted teams progressing from video submissions to Demo Day and the Grand Finals.

PillSnap is an AI-powered pill identification tool designed to support clinicians and pharmacists in Singapore. By allowing users to simply snap a photo, the system can detect, crop and identify multiple pills at once, helping to save time, reduce manual checking errors and support safer medication reconciliation.
