Programme outline
Learning objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify opportunities for prototyping and innovation within their own domain area.
- Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create clearer specifications that guide prototype development.
- Break prototype development into manageable AI-assisted tasks for tracking and review.
- Apply design thinking principles to make informed product decisions at key points in the AI workflow.
- Validate whether the prototype works as expected, supports the intended user need, and fits the relevant domain context.
- Present the prototype’s purpose, value, and potential organisational use.
Day 1
- Work with the AI to turn design artifacts into initial specifications of what the application should do.
- Verify and update the specifications so they match the requirements, designs, and user needs.
- Generate an implementation plan from the specifications, outlining what needs to be built step by step.
- Verify and update the implementation plan before the AI starts building.
- Execute the tasks in the implementation plan and track task progress for the initial prototype.
Day 2
- Review the initial prototype against the requirements, designs, and user needs.
- Validate and improve the prototype through added features, fixes, or refinements.
- Prepare a concise pitch and prototype walkthrough.
- Present and demonstrate the prototype’s purpose, key features, and user value.
