Global Innovation Internships (GII)

About

Through the Global Innovation Internships (GII), students are placed for up to 12 months in leading innovation ecosystems across cities such as Toronto, Stockholm, Hangzhou and the Greater Bay Area—working in sectors including deep tech, sustainability, semiconductors, robotics and logistics.

What do students gain

GII is not just about gaining work experience—it’s designed to transform how students see themselves, others, and the world. Its benefits go far beyond a typical internship.
Real-world exposure with depth
in diverse environments—start-ups, corporates, research labs, VC firms, and VWOs.
Understand different innovation ecosystems
and gain a multi-dimensional view of innovation and impact through different GII context and environments.
Empathy through human engagement
by working across cultures, disciplines, and communities.

Structure and highlights

The GII comprises 2 components—academic exchange (1 term) and internship (2 terms), through which students are exposed to not just entrepreneurship content and mentorship, you will have the opportunity to build your own start-ups or partner with other start-ups.

GII is for students who are:

  • aspiring to be founders
  • curious about the world
  • open to growth
  • reflective about themselves
