Research agenda
The SUTD Digital Manufacturing and Design (DManD) Centre brings engineers, designers, architects, materials scientists, and computer scientists together to conduct fundamental research, translate it into industry adoption, and educate future innovators of design and manufacturing. The DManD Centre’s research advances the frontiers of design and manufacturing by:
Creating computational simulation and design capabilities
To enable designers to exploit new design windows enabled by digital manufacturing technologies and create previously unobtainable products.
Creating innovative fabrication technologies
Based on the digital fusion of sensing, additive and subtractive processes, as well as new ideas in multi-scale, multi-material, and multifunctional fabrication.
Integrating these into digital workflows to transform the way new products are created
Paving the way for more efficient, sustainable and intuitive manufacturing processes — while forging a brighter future for our digital manufacturing landscape.

NAMIC@SUTD
The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) strives to further develop the ecosystem for additive manufacturing (AM) technologies in Singapore — by raising awareness of these new technologies, while conducting collaborative industry projects and standards development projects.
