Biography
Jie Han received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering Product Development (Electrical), Summa Cum Laude, from the Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2015.
Jie Han joined DSO National Laboratories in 2016 as a Senior Member of Technical Staff. Over nine years, Jie Han worked on the electro-mechanical design, guidance, navigation and control, and systems engineering of unmanned maritime vehicles. This included developing autonomous underwater and surface platforms, integrating mechanical, electrical, control and software systems, and supporting their progression from prototypes through sea trials towards operational deployment.
In 2025, Jie Han joined MINDEF’s Future Systems & Technology Directorate as Assistant Director. Jie Han currently manages an underwater research and development portfolio spanning sensing, communications, autonomy and system integration. Jie Han also contributes to capability strategies and technology roadmaps, facilitates cross-agency and international R&D collaborations, and supports the development of STEM talent through student mentorship and university projects in maritime autonomy.
