ISTD PhD student Nan Li has won the Bronze Award at the Student 3MT Pitch Competition, held as part of the IEEE 6G Summit Singapore 2026 on 31 August 2026.

The Student 3MT (Three-Minute Thesis) Pitch Competition brought together student researchers from across the region to present their research ideas before an audience of leading academic and industry experts. Participants were challenged to communicate the essence of their research, its significance, and its potential impact within just three minutes using a single static slide.

Nan Li’s award-winning presentation demonstrated not only the quality of the research, but also the ability to translate complex ideas into a clear, concise, and engaging narrative. The competition emphasises an increasingly important skill for researchers: communicating advanced research to diverse audiences beyond their immediate field of expertise.

Nan Li is supervised by ISTD Associate Professor Binbin Chen and co-supervised by ISTD Faculty Fellow Dr Marie Siew.

This achievement reflects the high calibre of research and scholarly excellence within ISTD, as well as our commitment to developing researchers and students who can effectively bridge academia and industry through impactful communication.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Nan Li on this outstanding accomplishment and wish continued success in their future research endeavours.
